Mark's work is well known and has been awarded several times. He has collaborated on projects such as Batman / Houdini: The Devil's Workshop, where he won a National Cartoonists Society Award for Best Comic Book in 1983, and Clive Barker's Hellraiser. He was also the first colorist of Mike Mignola's comic book Hellboy, Seed of Destruction. Chiarello's work was also featured in Star Wars: The New Essential Chronology. In addition, he also worked on Marvel's Wolverine and The Many Armors of Iron Man. As Vice President Art Direction & Design of DC Comics, he determined the representation of various comics.
